RVN Fibers – 2 × 2,500 kVA
A twin-transformer industrial substation with 22 kV supply, LV distribution, site installation and energisation in December 2024.
QUANGANHCONS · INDUSTRIAL MV/LV EPC
Get an indicative transformer substation budget, understand the MV/LV package and review our delivered factory and urban power projects before issuing your RFQ.
Indicative costs only. Final offer after equipment/BOQ and site checks.

A quoted price for a transformer is not the total installed substation price. EPC cost depends on transformer quantity and kVA, HV/LV switchgear and protection, site civil works, overhead and underground MV feeders, earthing, testing, commissioning interfaces and local utility requirements. Two projects with identical transformer capacity can have materially different scope, cable lengths, construction conditions and delivery schedules. Your RFQ must identify those differences rather than relying on an unqualified cost per kVA.
Go directly to the tool: Substation Construction & Quick Budget Estimate. The calculator may provide indicative pricing only for configurations with suitable price data and defined assumptions. Live-line work, multiple-transformer schemes and special MV feeders require separate engineering review.
Request a cost schedule that separates supply, civil/electrical installation, documentation and acceptance. The following checklist is a commercial scope matrix, not a published fixed-price tariff.
| Cost package | Typical scope to quantify | Procurement decision |
|---|---|---|
| Engineering & approvals | Survey, SLD, drawings, utility connection package, method statements | Who owns design and utility interfaces? |
| MV feeder works | 22–35 kV cable/overhead line, poles, trench/duct, joints and terminations | Actual route length and road reinstatement? |
| MV switching & metering | RMU, LBS/FCO, VCB if required, surge arresters, CT/VT interface | Utility-approved connection/protection scheme? |
| Transformers | Oil/dry type, kVA, voltage ratio, losses, quantity and accessories | Specified datasheet, tests and accepted manufacturer? |
| LV distribution | MSB, ACB/MCCB, busbar/busduct, LV cables and PFC where applicable | Fault level and selectivity verified? |
| Civil, earthing & auxiliaries | Foundations, enclosure/room, earth grid, ventilation, drainage | Ground conditions, flood risk and fire strategy? |
| Installation & close-out | Delivery, lifting, wiring, inspections, tests, commissioning coordination and as-builts | Responsibilities, acceptance, programme and warranty? |
Explicitly identify VAT and applicable tax treatment, cables to downstream loads, special piling, live-line work, third-party charges, permitting, major road crossings and project-specific fire provisions. Do not assume any item is included merely because the bid is labelled “turnkey”.
For a balanced three-phase transformer, the nominal line current is I = S/(√3 × U), with S in kVA and line-to-line U in kV. For a 1,000 kVA – 22/0.4 kV example: 26.24 A at 22 kV and 1,443.4 A at 400 V. These are preliminary current values, not final ratings for circuit breakers, cable cross-sections or busbars. Select equipment after checking short-circuit duty, load derating, voltage drop, thermal withstand, transformer impedance and protective-device coordination.
Budget estimate: useful for early capital approval when site data is incomplete, but it must disclose assumptions and exclusions. Technical RFQ: issue the same SLD/BOQ, transformer loss limits, manufacturer requirements and utility interfaces to each bidder. Contract quotation: confirm scope split between investor, industrial-zone utility, engineering consultant and EPC contractor; currency/taxes, lead time, payment milestones, warranties, factory/site tests and acceptance documentation must be explicit.
Single versus multiple transformers: the installed kVA sum is not necessarily firm N−1 capacity. A two-transformer scheme may require LV bus-section devices, interlocks, independent MV feeders and a defined operating philosophy. Establish this before comparing two bids.

EVIDENCE FROM THE FIELD
Watch QuangAnhcons installation footage, then browse five documented industrial and urban MV/LV project references. Images are taken from project articles in the QuangAnhcons website network.
Documented references do not imply a certification, equipment approval or a guarantee of identical scope for a new project. Check actual drawings, manufacturer data and testing records for every RFQ.
A single price is not reliable without the substation arrangement, transformer type, MV cable route, switching/metering design, foundations and delivery scope. Use the online estimator for an initial budget where supported, then request a project-based BOQ quotation.
The scope depends on the selected configuration. Review the tool’s inclusions and exclusions and request a detailed BOQ specifying the transformer, MV switchgear, LV MSB, feeder, earthing and construction works.
No direct extrapolation should be assumed. Voltage class, insulation, MV equipment, clearances, metering, protection and site approvals require a separate engineering review.
Yes, an indicative estimate can be discussed provided assumptions, provisional quantities and missing site/utility information are disclosed. A binding commercial offer should follow a defined RFQ basis and scope.
Project location, load schedule, required kVA/number of units, voltage, SLD, MV feeder route, site layout, required equipment brands/specifications, ownership boundaries and target energisation date.
QuangAnhcons supports industrial plants, logistics facilities and development projects with scope review, MV/LV construction and agreed utility/commissioning interfaces. Share your tender BOQ, drawings, capacity, location and target programme.

Technical and commercial guide updated 21 October 2026. Estimates are not contractual offers, approved designs, utility permits or certifications. Final scope, applicable standards, equipment specifications, tests and local approvals must be verified for the project.

Send your project details, BOQ or drawings to request a formal quotation. Fields marked * are required.
Applies to one EVN-supplied substation with oil-immersed transformers at 22/0.4 kV (single-phase: 12.7/0.23 kV), with MV metering VTs/CTs supplied by EVN. The estimate includes the selected equipment, installation, earthing, transformer-to-main-breaker connections, design and connection documentation, and coordination of testing and utility acceptance.
Kiosk, integrated steel-pole and indoor substations include MV switchgear and the entered underground cable route. Other outdoor arrangements use the relevant protection configuration. The final diagram must meet the project connection requirements.
Excludes VAT, cables from the substation switchboard to the MSB/loads, live-line work, harmonic reactors, weak-ground treatment or special piling, land and special fire-protection provisions. Underground routes assume normal construction conditions and exclude road drilling and special reinstatement.
Prices are indicative investment budgets. A formal quotation follows site assessment and agreement on the configuration. Electrical selections are preliminary and require design verification before installation.
The catalogue defines the enquiry range of this tool, not universal TCVN capacity limits. Single pole-mounted transformers: 15–100 kVA; three-unit banks: 3×15–3×100 kVA. Platform substations: 100–630 kVA. Steel-pole substations: 100–630 kVA; 750/800 kVA require design verification and local approval. Ground-mounted, kiosk and indoor configurations: 50–10,000 kVA. Not every configuration has a package price or the same structural design.
Reference: EVN Decision 1299/QD-EVN dated 3 November 2017, Volume 1, sections 3.3–3.4. Check the current requirements of the responsible utility before implementation. Kiosks must meet manufacturer ratings and testing requirements (IEC 62271-202); indoor and ground-mounted arrangements must meet project layout, ventilation, structural and fire-protection requirements. For multiple transformers, specify the quantity and capacity of each unit.
